Digital Fluid Power

Grégoire Marin, head of our R&D lab, was in Edinburgh the on 19th and 20th of September to participate in the 11th workshop on digital fluid power, DFP22. He presented the scientific paper about our ultrafast valve, written in collaboration with Simon Clément, Alice Aubry, Frédéric Jean and Frédéric Mosca.

The article “high-speed piezoelectric valve with low-pressure drop and zero leakage flow” is available here.

It explains the advantages of our valve for digital hydraulics thanks to its piezoelectric actuation which, unlike electromagnetic actuation, offers low inertia and high stiffness, providing an extremely low response time.

Our high-speed valve has a huge potential as the hydraulic sector is facing the energetic transition, requiring a reduction of consumption of hydraulic machines, allowed by digitization. Thanks to the continuous modification of the pressure or flow rate without the intentional introduction of loss of power, our technology answers the needs of digital hydraulics.

With an opening time under 0,4 ms, our piezoelectric valve is the fastest on the market. This valve could be used for many applications and sectors such as the air and space industry, lifting equipment, transportation, off-road vehicles…
