Vibration damping and monitoring​

The damping of mechanical vibrations is a major problematic in a large variety of industrial fields such as naval, air and space or defense. Reducing the vibration of equipments allows to increase their lifetime and their performances, and decrease their acoustic emission (for comfort or for acoustic stealth). ​

The direct piezoelectric effect allows to convert mechanical vibration energy into electricity, which can then be dissipated. Coupling piezoelectric elements with complex charge extraction electronics allows to further improve the damping performances of the system. ​

PYTHEAS Technology has developed piezoelectric tuned mass dampers (TMD) and suspensions offering several advantages:​
